With this blog I intend to share with you some of my personal anecdotes as your Community liaison, updates on AVST’s web 2.0 initiatives, feedback from CallXpress User Group member surveys, and important information on upcoming User Group activities such as training, conferences and webinars. I hope you will tune in weekly to read the latest news about the Community and get involved by commenting regularly on the blog posts.
So let’s start with the basics…
Who am I? My name is Jennifer Ross and I am your AVST Community liaison. Hardy Myers, our President and CEO likes to refer to me as your Community concierge. I think I’m a combination of the two. I am the go-between AVST (the company) and our CallXpress User Group members. But, as Hardy’s title implies, I like to do more than just manage the process, I like to work closely with both parties and personally assist with various tasks whenever appropriate. I intend to use my relationships with my fellow AVSTers to assist YOU, our customers. Likewise, I propose to call on many of you to help ensure the longevity of our Community and our world-call unified communications platform, CallXpress.
What do I really do? Believe it or not, my Community concierge/liaison duties are only part of my job responsibilities here at AVST. My actual title is Marketing Project Manager. I work in the Marketing (I know, shocking isn’t it?!?) department and report to our Director (aka Guru) of E-Marketing, C.J. Land. I have a pretty awesome job and am lucky enough to report to a top-notch boss. (While I’m being totally serious, I figure a little flattery won’t hurt my job!!) I joined AVST in February 2008 to develop a Web 2.0 initiative that would engage our end users to share information and contribute to the development of AVST products.
Here’s a recap of the key programs associated with our Web 2.0 initiative:

Great blog Jennifer – it’s only lacking one thing -
your picture.
Pick a day, get on your best duds, and I’ll bring
my best camera & lights in and get a hi-res “action”
shot of you at your desk.
