![]() Tom Minifie Chief Technology Officer |
Tom Minifie was promoted to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in October 2008. In this role, Tom is responsible for the strategic direction of the Company’s CallXpress product line. Prior to his promotion to CTO, Tom served as the Vice President of Product Management for AVST since its inception in 2003. Previously, Tom held a variety of executive level positions in the sales, business development and marketing organizations of Captaris, Inc. and its predecessor company, Applied Voice Technology ("AVT"). Tom is a recognized authority in the field of Unified Communications and a frequent speaker on the topic. Tom has also spent considerable time cultivating strategic technical relationships with many of the industry’s leading technology companies including Aastra/Ericsson, Alcatel–Lucent, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Mitel and NEC. Doug Murray joined AVST as a result of the Company’s acquisition of the CallXpress division of Captaris, Inc., formerly Applied Voice Technology ("AVT"). Doug was the cofounder of AVT in 1982 and led the original design and development of the CallXpress product line. Over the past 22 years, Doug has continued to lead the ongoing research and development of the CallXpress product line including significant innovations in the utilization of off-the-shelf technology, globalization, networking, IVR, and unified messaging. These engineering initiatives have continued to extend the position of the CallXpress product line as a state-of-the-art business communications solution. Doug was also responsible for developing the integration to Avaya Communication’s Octel messaging platform, a project that took over a year to complete and was ultimately sold to Cisco Systems for in excess of $15 million. Neil Butler Director of Sales Engineering |
Serving in his current capacity as Director of Sales Engineering, Neil Butler is responsible for supporting the AVST employees and channel partners in their efforts to present and sell the AVST solutions. In his sixteen years with Applied Voice Technology (AVT), Captaris and AVST, Neil has held positions in sales, marketing, product management and sales engineering.

Matt Sawyer Senior Product Manager |
As a Senior Product Manager at AVST, Matt Sawyer is an integral part of the AVST Product Management team that is responsible for all AVST products. The Product Management team works hand-in-hand with the various other teams at AVST and with strategic partners to ensure that AVST offers the products and services that our reseller channel and end-customers are looking for. Additionally, Matt manages the AVST Beta Program involving customer trials of upcoming product releases. Prior to joining AVST in 2006, Matt spent 12 years at Ericsson in the Enterprise division doing development, project management, and training for the MD110 PBX and related applications including Ericsson’s OEM version of CallXpress. Jennifer Ross Marketing Project Manager |
Jennifer Ross joined AVST in February 2008 to spearhead the company’s Web 2.0 initiative. In her role as Marketing Project Manager, Jennifer oversees the CallXpress User Group, AVST Community, AVST Blogs, CallXpress User Forum and all end user related groups and events. Dana Morio Marketing Manager |
Dana Morio brings 10 years experience in the communication industry with focus on telephony and messaging. She currently is responsible for Product Marketing working closely with Product Management on positioning the product to customers and providing the right tools (brochures, movies, datasheets, case studies, etc) to highlight the values of our solution.
