Active Voice to Introduce Kinesis Unified Messaging Solution at MEC 2002

(Seattle, Washington, USA - October 2, 2002 – Active Voice, LLC, a global provider of unified messaging, computer telephony and voice messaging solutions, will unveil its new Kinesis Microsoft® Exchange®-based true unified messaging solution at MEC 2002 in Anaheim, California. The conference is scheduled for October 8-11 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Active Voice will occupy booth #636 in the Microsoft Partner Pavilion.

"Kinesis is a true unified messaging solution that allows you to choose how, when and from where you manage your messages, putting you in control of your communications," said Mike Prescott, Active Voice's vice president of marketing. "It delivers superior messaging control, administrative ease and investment value to organizations who want true unified messaging."

Kinesis is a Windows® 2000-based communications server that delivers voice mail and unified messaging into a Microsoft Exchange environment. It gives users the ability to access and manage their voice, fax and e-mail messages from a PC, telephone or the Internet. With increased message access and control, business professionals are able to provide exceptional customer service and quickly share information across the company. Through superior Windows 2000 performance, extensive use of BackOffice® components, an intuitive Web browser-style interface, and the use of streaming media, Kinesis's architecture minimizes installation, administration, and maintenance costs-making life easier for system administrators and lowering an organization's total cost of ownership.

Kinesis is designed for customers who face the challenge of converging their voice and data networks. Unlike most other unified messaging solutions available today, Kinesis is convergence-ready. It supports both traditional and IP (Internet Protocol) telephone systems, as well as combined IP/PBX environments, meeting the needs of organizations as they migrate to IP telephony.

"Our strength is our ability to bridge the gap between traditional telephony and IP telephony," commented Victor Foia, Active Voice's president and chief executive officer. "Many companies may not move to IP-only networks in a single step, preferring instead a gradual migration. Our Kinesis unified messaging solution enables organizations to follow this strategy by interfacing equally well with traditional and IP switches."

Active Voice will also demonstrate its latest Repartee® product offering at MEC 2002 - Repartee UC (Unified Communications) for Windows 2000. Repartee UC version 1.5 was made generally available to customers on July 19, 2002.

Built upon the Windows 2000 Server operating system, Repartee UC brings users the power of centralized message control through advanced unified messaging, voice mail and automated attendant functionality. Repartee UC features a Windows-based administration console that allows Repartee UC systems to be administered from any Windows PC on a LAN (local area network). It also offers Active Voice's award-winning TeLANophy® unified messaging and call control applications that integrate with a company's LAN to allow users to manage their messages from the telephone, or from the PC using the Microsoft Outlook® Inbox. As the company continues to pursue its aggressive development schedule, it expects to release Repartee UC version 2.0 in November 2002. This version will feature a new Mailbox Manager graphical user interface, multilingual prompts and 48-port capacity.
