Active Voice Provides Unified Messaging to Largest Health Authority in British Columbia Fraser Health Enhances its Communications Network with Active Voice Kinesis* Unified Messaging Solution

Seattle, Washington, USA—July 21, 2005— Active Voice, LLC, a global provider of unified messaging, computer telephony, and voice messaging solutions, today announced that it has been chosen by Fraser Health, British Columbia’s largest health authority, to provide unified messaging technology for its voice and data network. Active Voice’s Kinesis* unified messaging solution will enhance the performance of Fraser Health’s existing communications infrastructure, helping the organization streamline its operations and provide optimum patient care.

Active Voice will begin implementing six Kinesis unified messaging systems into the Fraser Health network later this year. The systems will eventually support 20,000 employees at 140 locations throughout southwest British Columbia. Active Voice will help in consolidating Fraser Health’s communications infrastructure, which consists of several disparate voice mail platforms. The new Kinesis unified messaging systems can help improve staff productivity by delivering voice, fax, and e-mail messages directly to each employee’s inbox, allowing medical and administrative personnel to quickly share information and simplify communications across the organization. The Active Voice Kinesis systems will be fully networked with several NEC NEAXMail® AD-120 unified messaging systems to support the NEC and Nortel telephone switches used by Fraser. In addition, the new unified messaging systems will take advantage of clustering and OAI (Open Applications Interface) integration capabilities to allow for high-capacity redundant systems that will operate if one server fails, a common concern for organizations with multiple sites and a large number of users.
