AVST Adds Thirty New Resellers To Expand Global Footprint And Bolster Sales

Innovative Unified Communications Product Line and Highly Supportive Marketing Programs Draw Channel Partners to AVST

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., September 14, 2005 – Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST) today announced it has added thirty new resellers to its channel program this year, giving the company a total of more than 200 channel partners worldwide.  Already the leading independent provider of unified communications (UC) solutions for the enterprise market, AVST continues to expand its global presence by partnering with resellers that are attracted to AVST’s comprehensive unified communications product line and valuable, supportive marketing programs.

AVST’s channel success is due to its consultative, solutions-based approach to integrating next-generation communications infrastructures that can evolve over the lifetime of a business.  AVST channel partners have access to the company’s innovative technology and its comprehensive UC product line that appeals to businesses of all sizes.  In addition to its flagship product, CallXpress®, which delivers world-class call processing, voice messaging, unified messaging and advanced speech applications to medium and large enterprises, the company recently introduced the CallXpress Server Bundle designed to provide smaller businesses and enterprise branch offices with the same powerful communications features and functionality that larger enterprises enjoy.

As more and more businesses are considering new investments to their existing communications infrastructure, AVST resellers are empowered with a product that integrates with more digital and IP switches than any other UC product on the market.  The advantage for end users is the ability to leverage previous investments in their first generation phone systems to get second generation features that can increase the connectivity and productivity of their workforce without the “forklift upgrade” that is generally required by other UC solution providers.

According to Shared Technologies, one of AVST’s newest national channel partners, the CallXpress product line provides resellers with the opportunity to offer customers the best selection of communications solutions to choose from.  AVST’s products enable resellers to deliver a solution set to their end user customers that can evolve over time as the communication requirements of their workforce change.

“When developing a second generation communications strategy, many companies want to build on existing investments,” said AVST’s President and CEO, Hardy Myers.  “Because AVST’s products are designed to work with hundreds of digital as well as IP switches, end users have the option to protect their legacy investments and economically implement their communications strategy in stages over time.  Additionally, the platform is designed to deliver varying levels of communications functionality to different segments of the workforce on an “ala carte” basis significantly reducing company-wide licensing costs while ensuring that employees get the best communications technology for their individual requirements today.”

“Companies look to AVST as a long-term communications technology partner that will continue to deliver solutions that help them “future-proof” their existing and planned communications infrastructure investments,” added Myers.  “AVST’s world class resellers provide localized representation globally to support companies effectively and economically develop and evolve their communications strategy.  Our resellers are specially trained and equipped with the tools to help end users develop the technology roadmap that meets their goals for customer connectivity and workforce productivity.”

The backbone of AVST’s reseller program, and another reason resellers are steadily attracted to the company, is the creative marketing programs that have been developed for the channel.  According to AVST’s Vice President of Marketing Denny Michael, “We have an aggressive and highly supportive marketing program that provides the tools and infrastructure that makes selling and installing our products easy and efficient.  Many of our channel partners have expressed a desire to work with us due to the level of marketing support that we offer.”

AVST’s marketing programs for the channel include:

  • “PartnerXpress®” – an online extranet site that provides resellers with real-time access to the resources they need to sell AVST’s products including marketing collateral, sales tools, product bulletins, technical datasheets, promotional programs and training tutorials.
  • “AVST Fast Trak” – a program designed to get new resellers up to speed on the AVST product line and generating revenue in the shortest timeframe possible.
  • “AVST Live!” -- a weekly Web seminar series that provides a forum for AVST to demonstrate the capabilities of its powerful unified communications solutions to its rapidly expanding base of customers and resellers.
  • “Know Your Options” -- an education centric campaign designed to arm resellers with tools to help business professionals understand the options available to them as they develop second generation communications strategies for their companies.

“Our approach to the market is to provide resellers and potential customers with a variety of informational and educational forums where they can be exposed to and consider new ideas and learn how to develop or assist in the development of communications strategies that will have a positive impact on the performance of their companies,” added Michael.
