AVST Enhances CallXpress With Speech-to-Text Technology from GotVoice
Extends Productivity by Making Voicemail Messages Viewable on Mobile Devices or Computers
FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., December 16, 2008 - Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST) today announced that its flagship Unified Communications (UC) platform, CallXpress®, now supports GotVoice®, a leader in voicemail transcription services, to provide business users with the ability to quickly view their voicemail content when access to audio is prohibited or challenging. AVST will leverage GotVoice’s Voicemail-to-Text functionality to enable CallXpress users to read their voicemail messages on their mobile device or computer.
When a voicemail message comes in at a time that is inconvenient for the recipient, CallXpress receives the voicemail message and sends it to the GotVoice transcription service, which then transforms it into text. GotVoice employs a two part process for voicemail transcription, which fine tunes and cross checks messages for accuracy. Messages are then sent by GotVoice to the user’s e-mail or as a text message (SMS) to any mobile device that the user chooses. GotVoice offers the highest levels of accuracy and speed of all speech-to-text services, meeting the demands of business users.
According to Tom Minifie, AVST’s Chief Technology Officer, “GotVoice is natively supported by CallXpress and works right out of the box, making it extremely simple for CallXpress users to upgrade to speech-to-text capabilities. Speech-to-text is truly the next iteration of unified messaging, taking single mailbox access to the next level by making voicemail messages viewable and easily searchable before listening to them in their entirety. AVST was a pioneer in providing e-mail reading over the telephone by using text-to-speech technology, and the integration with GotVoice is another example of AVST’s best-in-class approach to providing next generation UC functionalities that make users more productive and accessible than ever before.”
“Voicemail-to-Text changes the way that people communicate by streamlining the communication process and allowing messages to be received in a manner that is convenient for the recipient,” noted Colin Lamont, Vice President of Marketing for GotVoice. “Giving users the ability to understand a message at a glance greatly improves recipient productivity and efficiency and provides greater convenience, as they can now quickly scan messages for importance and reply accordingly.”
With over 40,000 systems deployed worldwide, AVST’s flagship product, CallXpress, delivers world-class call processing, voicemail, unified messaging, fax, notification and speech-enabled personal assistant and automated attendant capabilities to help organizations become more productive.
