AVST Expands EMEA Operations

Hires Industry Veterans to Strengthen AVST’s Presence in EMEA Region

LONDON, May 13, 2010 - Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST) today announced the addition of Ian Massingham as Regional Sales Director for the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations.  In addition, the company has further bolstered its EMEA team with the addition of Simon Turner as OEM Account Director for Aastra.  The expansion of the AVST EMEA team underscores the company’s commitment to the region and supports its strategic plan to further establish itself as a leading provider of Unified Communications solutions.

In his new role, Ian is responsible for driving the CallXpress channel sales activities in the EMEA region.  With more than 20 years in the telecommunications industry, Ian brings extensive experience in both mature and start-up organizations with specific channel management and operational capabilities and reports to Paul Cheslaw, AVST’s Vice President & Managing Director, EMEA.

“Ian is a welcome addition to our EMEA team,” said Cheslaw. “Over the years he has developed many strategic relationships and has established valuable telecom-specific expertise that can be immediately leveraged as we focus on our growth in the region. By adding additional resources to our EMEA team, we are better positioned to address the growing demand for next generation communications solutions.”

Prior to AVST, Ian held the title of Business Development Director for Servassure, a Daisy group PLC business.  Servassure is an independent third party service provider to channel partners in the UK ICT market. Ian also held strategic sales, marketing and business development roles with Cisco and Avaya.  At Cisco, Ian served as Marketing Manager Europe and Emerging Markets, where he developed and launched the company’s Unified Communications proposition in Europe and additional emerging markets.  He also held the position of Distribution Account Director at Avaya.

In addition to Ian Massingham’s role, AVST has also added the position of OEM Account Director for Aastra.  In this role, Simon Turner will work closely with Aastra, a strategic partner of AVST.  Turner will leverage his experience in Channel Sales and Partner Management to further develop and support the AVST relationship with Aastra and their reseller channels.

About AVST

The typical enterprise communications infrastructure is made up of a collection of technologies from multiple vendors, acquired over time and never intended to work together. To maximize user and business productivity, while leveraging existing IT investments, interoperability is a must.

AVST delivers the industry's most interoperable Unified Communications (UC) platform that brings best-of-breed voice, mobility and business process solutions to the enterprise.
