AVST Launches New Version of CallXpress

Facilitates Migration of Kinesis and Repartee for Windows Customers to CallXpress

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., February 8, 2011 – Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST) announces a new version of its flagship unified communications solution, CallXpress® 8.11.  The new version includes key features designed to facilitate a seamless migration for Kinesis and Repartee® for Windows customers to CallXpress.

CallXpress 8.11 features new telephone user interfaces (TUIs) that emulate the Kinesis and the Repartee product families.  The benefit is that users have a smooth transition to CallXpress and require minimal training to use the system.  In addition to Kinesis and Repartee, CallXpress emulates the TUIs of the most popular voicemail systems including: Octel® Aria®, Octel Serenade®, Mitel® NuPoint with Centigram interface, Avaya® INTUITY AUDIX, and Nortel® Meridian Mail.

With migration to CallXpress being a primary goal, the new version of CallXpress also introduces a migration wizard.  The wizard allows customers to easily transfer data from Kinesis and Repartee for Windows to the CallXpress platform.  The migration wizard takes any guesswork out of the migration and makes data transfer a more simplified process.  User names, phone numbers, greetings, security codes, messages and system distribution lists can all be migrated and imported into CallXpress with the migration wizard.

According to Tom Minifie, AVST Chief Technology Officer, “We’re committed to the thousands of Kinesis and Repartee for Windows users that became AVST customers when we acquired Active Voice.  We’re delivering on our promise to transition those customers to CallXpress, which has an active roadmap and ultimately offers them more features and functionality including greater resiliency, scalability, personal assistant capabilities and flexible unified messaging options.”

AVST continues its focus on telephony interoperability and in doing so the new release of CallXpress provides integration with Avaya Aura® Session Manager 6.0.  This new integration, in addition to the 400-plus TDM and IP integrations already offered by AVST, further bolsters the company’s position as providing the industry’s most interoperable UC solution.  CallXpress 8.11 also offers full support for Microsoft® Exchange 2010, including calendaring and contacts.

The transition to CallXpress 8.11 is made even more attractive with AVST’s new Migrate to 8 program offering special incentives for Kinesis and Repartee customers. For more information, please view Migrate to 8.

CallXpress 8.11 is available through AVST’s established reseller channels within the next thirty days. For more information about AVST’s products, please visit the company website at www.avst.com.

About AVST

The typical enterprise communications infrastructure is made up of a collection of technologies from multiple vendors, acquired over time and never intended to work together. To maximize user and business productivity, while leveraging existing IT investments, interoperability is a must.
