AVST Offers New IP Integration for the Mitel 3300 ICP PBX
New Integration Provides Lower Cost Solution For Enterprise Users of CallXpress®
Foothill Ranch, Calif., September 1, 2004 – Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST), a leading provider of second generation communications solutions for the enterprise market, today announced a new IP-based integration between the AVST CallXpress® unified communications solution and the Mitel® 3300 Integrated Communications Plaform (ICP) PBX using the Mitel Telephony Application Interface (MiTAI). With this new IP-based integration, AVST delivers a more economical solution to its extensive list of worldwide resellers enabling them to better market the powerful Mitel/AVST combined solution set for immediate sale to enterprise customers.
AVST’s flagship unified communications solution, CallXpress, has been integrated to Mitel PBX products using hardware-based solutions for years. Responding to market requests for IP-based voice solutions and a growing demand in the enterprise to reduce the costs of integration, the new AVST IP integration lowers the total cost of deploying CallXpress with the 3300 ICP PBX by up to 45 percent compared to similar hardware-based solutions.
The CallXpress IP integration utilizes the Mitel telephony API for call control and MiAUDIO IP phone emulation software for media control, to perform all call processing over a TCP/IP connection to the 3300 ICP telephone system. Voice cards are no longer required for the CallXpress system to integrate with the 3300 ICP.
“Our new Mitel IP-based integration is further validation of AVST’s expertise in delivering TDM-based and IP-based integrations to traditional and IP PBX's,” said Tom Minifie, AVST’s Vice President of Product Management. “As an independent provider of enterprise communications solutions that operate seamlessly in the dynamic PBX environment, our business is built on providing tight integrations to legacy, current and future PBX products.”
Currently AVST maintains over 250 PBX integrations in its product portfolio enabling medium and large enterprises to standardize on the powerful CallXpress communications solution as they continue to evolve their switching infrastructure towards world class IP PBX products like the 3300 ICP. “We believe that this new IP-based integration to AVST’s powerful CallXpress communications solution will be very appealing to Mitel customers and resellers alike,” Minifie added.
AVST is a member of the Mitel MiSolutions Network (MiSN), a comprehensive global third-party developer program enabling world class companies to successfully create products and services that complement the Mitel portfolio. MiSN is a vehicle for the development of a full range of enterprise-based software solutions that enhance the richness and reach of Mitel’s core voice-based technologies. About AVST
The typical enterprise communications infrastructure is made up of a collection of technologies from multiple vendors, acquired over time and never intended to work together. To maximize user and business productivity, while leveraging existing IT investments, interoperability is a must.
AVST delivers the industry's most interoperable Unified Communications (UC) platform that brings best-of-breed voice, mobility and business process solutions to the enterprise. Unlike virtually every other UC vendor, AVST does not constrain customers with a single vendor lock-in approach. In fact, it's the very opposite. By connecting new and existing technologies, AVST frees organizations from the constraints of a closed, single-source UC solution, unlocking the full potential of their communications infrastructure.
With over 15 million users worldwide and three decades of innovation excellence, AVST is unifying communications®.
Headquartered in Orange County, California, AVST maintains facilities in Seattle, Washington, Victoria B.C., Canada and the United Kingdom and has remote sales offices throughout the United States.
