AVST Spotlights More Than 300 Worldwide Higher Education Deployments

CEO Conducts Seminar on Implementing Unified Messaging in Higher Education

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., January 28, 2008 – This week at the annual ACUTA Winter Seminar, Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST) is showcasing its flagship unified communications platform, CallXpress®.  Leveraging its experience in deploying CallXpress to over 300 higher education institutions, AVST will spotlight real-life examples to demonstrate the benefits of unified communications (UC).  In addition, AVST’s President and CEO, Hardy Myers, will conduct a session entitled “Deploying Unified Messaging with an Evolving Infrastructure,” on January 30 at 8:30 a.m. PT on the User Communications and Support Track.  CallXpress is available for demonstration at booth #309 on the show floor at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, Calif. from January 27-30.

AVST’s CEO, Hardy Myers, will focus on how educational institutions can benefit by replacing outdated voice messaging systems with the latest technologies.  Utilizing real-life examples from hundreds of successful customer installations, Myers will highlight the features and benefits of CallXpress, how to select the right solution, common pitfalls, best practices for implementation and how to maximize the return on investment. This session will benefit attendees by helping them to understand how to best evolve their telephony infrastructure by implementing UC.

ACUTA, which stands for the Association for Communications Technology Professionals in Higher Education, is an international non-profit educational association serving colleges and universities.  Representing nearly 2,000 individuals at 825 institutions of higher education with members ranging from small schools and community colleges to the 50 largest U.S. institutions, ACUTA’s core purpose is to support higher education institutions in achieving optimal use of communications technologies.

According to Denny Michael, AVST’s Vice President of Marketing, “More and more higher education campuses are replacing their outdated voice mail systems with next generation communications-enabled platforms that support VoIP and unified communications.  The idea of such a task does not need to be daunting.  We have a rich history and a great deal of experience in transitioning customers to IP and unified communications while protecting their legacy and future investments in PBX infrastructure. Our successful track record of over 300 worldwide installations has solidified us as a leader in the higher education marketplace.”

CallXpress delivers world-class call processing, voice mail, unified messaging, fax, notification and speech-enabled personal assistant capabilities to help colleges and universities become more productive.  Staff can manage voice, fax and e-mail messages from any location at any time—via laptop, telephone, cell phone or the Internet.  In addition, the platform is the ideal solution to replace legacy voice mail systems as well as support the latest IP-PBX integrations.  CallXpress was developed to offer quick and painless conversions to next generation technology through speedy implementation, simple administration and maintenance, and telephone user interface emulations that are already familiar to users resulting in minimal training.

AVST is a Corporate Affiliate of ACUTA and has been acknowledged for its support of ACUTA’s regional and national events over the last three years.  As part of its higher education awareness initiative, AVST will introduce a higher education user group consisting of CallXpress users that will share best practices, case studies, knowledge bases and a variety of other content to enhance their experience with CallXpress.
