AVST Unveils CallXpress® 7.91 Unified Communications Solution
New Release Offers Enhanced Digital Networking for Multi-Site Enterprises; Enhancements Provide Greater Interoperability, Capacity and Reliability
Orlando, Fla., March 18, 2008 – Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST) today unveiled a new version of its flagship Unified Communications solution, CallXpress. The new release, CallXpress 7.91, enhances AVST’s powerful Unified Communications platform with a host of new features that address the needs of multi-site organizations and market demands for greater capacity and interoperability with the latest IP-PBX, groupware and server technology.
As corporate mergers and acquisitions continue to grow, the need to support mixed PBX environments and geographically dispersed offices is also on the rise. Couple this with recent end-of-life announcements for legacy voice mail platforms and corporate demands for greater capacity and more flexibility and it becomes clear why IT decision makers are challenged to find the right solution for their unique environments.
The new release of CallXpress simplifies the problem with a series of new features that address these market demands including redesigned Digital Networking, new IP integrations and a new Nortel® Meridian Mail Telephone User Interface (TUI) emulation. Digital Networking allows organizations with geographically dispersed offices to network multiple systems together and send messages back and forth across systems. This new “star architecture” provides a more robust, reliable, and cost-effective solution which includes increased capacity and the elimination of a separate digital networking server at each location. In addition, CallXpress offers administrators the ability to manage subscribers of all CallXpress servers from a single global view.
"
Addressing this challenge, AVST offers over 250 TDM and IP integrations with the ability to support multiple switches on a single CallXpress platform. The new release extends AVST’s leadership position in offering the broadest range of IP integrations with new or updated support for Sphere® Sphericall SIP, Dialogic 1000 Media Gateway (DMG), Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise SIP, Cisco® Unified Communications Manager SCCP, and Nortel® CS1000 SIP.
The new Nortel Meridian Mail TUI emulation reinforces AVST’s ongoing commitment to address the needs of organizations that are rapidly replacing legacy voice mail systems. This TUI joins the Octel® Aria®, Octel Serenade®, Avaya® INTUITY™ AUDIX®, and Mitel® NuPoint with Centigram interface emulations, making CallXpress the world leader in first generation voice mail TUI emulations. Additionally, CallXpress offers seamless compatibility to multiple TUIs on the same system. This is particularly beneficial for the large volume of organizations with multiple systems that are all being replaced. CallXpress 7.91 also includes Groupware support for Microsoft® Exchange 2007 and Lotus® Notes®/Domino® 8.0 and support for the new PCI Express telephony cards.
