A Year in Review: Active Voice and the Upsurge of Unified Communications
Active Voice Closes 2007 with Key Technology Advancements, Milestone Achievements and Significant Market Positioning
Two significant analyst reports released in 2007 confirmed Active Voice as a market leader in their industry. First, The Telecom Intelligence Group (TIG) published a report in August 2007 called InfoTrack for Converged Applications (ICA) Full Year 2006 North America and Global Messaging Reports; this report positioned Active Voice as the third leading UM provider for messaging systems shipped in North America, and fourth leading UM provider for UM mailboxes shipped globally. Next, Active Voice was named by enterprise decision makers as a leading UC vendor of choice for global businesses, according to an IntelliCom Market Dashboard Alert also published in August 2007 by IntelliCom Analytics and TMCNet.
“This year marked our 25th anniversary in the Unified Messaging space, and we celebrated throughout the year with milestone achievements, such as 200,000 systems shipped. These milestones solidify our proven track record as a breakthrough innovator in the UM and UC marketplace—next to key players such as Microsoft, Avaya, and Cisco,” said Victor Foia, President and CEO, Active Voice. “Unified Messaging continues to evolve as businesses look for new and better ways to communicate, and we see many opportunities to bring advanced innovation to the forefront of customers, especially those who will be transitioning from legacy systems into Unified Messaging and eventually to Unified Communications. As veterans in this explosive market, we will continue to see increased momentum and greater impact as we move into 2008.”
Throughout the year, Active Voice launched major technology advancements, such as the first-of-its kind VideoMail for UM through its enterprise solution, *Kinesis 3.0, as well as Repartee 10.0. The release of Kinesis 3.0 for enterprises and Repartee 10.0 for small-to-mid size businesses (SMBs) solidified the Company’s innate ability to differentiate itself from other providers. For example, Active Voice’s cutting-edge VideoMail technology enables users to create and deliver video messages and screen captures by e-mail. Also within Repartee 10.0, key new features includes accessibility to voicemail via RSS Feeds; retrieval of voicemail, fax and e-mail from any communication device using Microsoft® Outlook, iGoogle or Apple® iTunes; ActiveSuite Client Applications; and Smartphone PDA support. “Active Voice certainly saw a milestone year full of significant business highlights that have increased our value proposition,” added Foia. “Moving into 2008, many businesses are approaching the end of their legacy messaging system life cycle, and we expect substantial growth in the UM market over the next two years. We look forward to providing these customers migration solutions that meet their business communication needs.”
