Active Voice Announces Version 2.1 of its Repartee® for Windows® 2000 Solutions

New Product Version Offers Fax Capabilities and Increased Scalability

Seattle, Washington, USA - February 13, 2002 – Active Voice, LLC, a global provider of unified messaging, computer telephony, and voice messaging solutions, today announced version 2.1 of its Repartee®UC (Unified Communications) and Repartee VM (Voice Messaging) for Windows® 2000 solutions. The Repartee for Windows 2000 products provide sophisticated voice mail and unified messaging functionality to help small and medium-sized organizations become more responsive.

"We are pleased to offer Active Voice's popular fax applications, increased scalability and hardware enhancements in this latest product version," said Mike Prescott, Active Voice's vice president of marketing. "With these product enhancements, Repartee for Windows 2000 users have even more flexibility in how they communicate with their colleagues and customers. We will continue to enhance our Repartee for Windows 2000 product line with leading-edge technology that improves the way people communicate."

The new Repartee for Windows 2000 products offer Active Voice's ActiveFax® module, giving users a powerful combination of voice mail, automated attendant, and complete facsimile functions. ActiveFax stores incoming faxes electronically, and sends them to any fax machine the subscriber chooses. Users can quickly and easily deliver faxes to any fax machine or save them for future transmissions. With ActiveFax, mobile workers can conveniently retrieve their fax messages without having to check with an office assistant when they are traveling.

In addition to ActiveFax, the new Repartee for Windows 2000 products support Active Voice's ViewFax® application, which helps eliminate fax gridlock and streamlines the faxing process. ViewFax works with Active Voice's ViewMail® and ViewMail for Microsoft® Messaging modules so that users can manage their faxes from their PC. By sending faxes directly to a desktop instead of a fax machine, ViewFax gives users complete control over all documents, preserving security and privacy. With ViewFax's print-to-fax capabilities, users can send documents directly from their desktop to any fax machine. ViewFax's intuitively designed computer interface makes administration of faxes easier and more convenient, helping users work more efficiently and improve customer response time.

The new Repartee for Windows 2000 products also include a new Live Record feature that allows conversations to be recorded and left as messages. The recorded message is left in the participants' own voices, which eliminates misunderstood or inaccurate written transcripts and captures the true tone of the conversation. With Live Record, users can archive important conversations for future use via standard DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency) tones or Active Voice's ViewMail and ViewMail for Microsoft Messaging applications.

Additional hardware enhancements have also been made to this latest product version. The new Repartee for Windows 2000 products provide support for the Universal PCI versions of several new Intel® Dialogic® voice and fax boards. By using these new boards, Repartee for Windows 2000 customers will enjoy increased compatibility with today's server platforms. Other product improvements include expanded 64-port capacity, extension remapping, voice prompt editor, additional serial, digital and T-1 integrations, and system administration console enhancements.
