Active Voice Now the #2 Enterprise Voice Messaging Provider in the United States

Technology Leader Rapidly Gaining Market Share

Seattle, Washington, USA—June 16, 2005— Active Voice, LLC, a global provider of unified messaging, computer telephony, and voice messaging solutions and subsidiary of NEC Unified Solutions, Inc. today announced that it became the second largest enterprise voice messaging provider in the United States at the end of 2004, according to InfoTech, a leading technology market research and consulting firm.

The report titled, “InfoTrack for Enterprise Communications – Full Year 2004 Report,” shows that, based on the number of voice messaging systems shipped last year, Active Voice jumped over Nortel Networks for the #2 market position and was exceeded in overall market share only by Avaya, Inc.

“The combination of our expanding product mix, new sales and marketing initiatives, and a focused distribution strategy has earned us a very strong market position,” said Victor Foia, Active Voice’s president and chief executive officer. “Over the last year, we’ve enhanced our product offerings and support services, and expanded our distribution channels. These latest market share results from InfoTech confirm that we are focusing on the right areas.”

“Active Voice has posted impressive growth in the voice messaging space over the past year,” said Frank Stinson, program director at InfoTech. “In 2003, Active Voice products accounted for just over 9 percent of all the voice messaging systems shipped in the United States. According to our data published this year, Active Voice now has a 13.2 percent share of the voice messaging market, making them number two in terms of systems shipped.”

Over the next year, Active Voice will focus its efforts on building its global sales channel. “As we look to the year ahead, we will place maximum emphasis on developing products for our OEM channel and expanding into new markets both domestically and abroad,” added Foia. “InfoTrack for Enterprise Communications” is a quarterly subscription service available from InfoTech (www.pbimedia-infotech.com) and also includes coverage of the PBX, IP-PBX, KTS, and Call Center markets.
