Active Voice Strengthens Position as Third Largest Voice Messaging Provider in the United States
InfoTech Releases Latest Voice Messaging Study
The report titled, "InfoTrack for Enterprise Communications – Fourth Quarter 2002 Report," shows Active Voice was exceeded in overall market share only by Avaya, Inc. and Nortel Networks, based on the number of voice messaging systems shipped last year.
"We are very pleased with the high rankings we achieved last year and are proud to also be the largest switch-independent vendor of voice messaging solutions," said Victor Foia, Active Voice’s president and chief executive officer. "By switch-independent, we mean that our products work with a multitude of telephone systems, unlike the single-switch exclusivity offered by competitive products. Over the last year, we’ve expanded our product family with several new next-generation communications solutions that work well with all leading-brand telephone systems. Our strong market presence, as reported by InfoTech, is a powerful validation that we are focusing our efforts in the right place."
"When looking at last year’s numbers of systems shipped, Active Voice made significant gains from the previous year," said Frank Stinson, InfoTech’s program director. "In 2001, Active Voice products accounted for 5 percent of all the voice messaging systems shipped in the United States. According to our data published last month, Active Voice now has a 10.3 percent share of the voice messaging market, which makes them number three in the overall standings."
"Although the InfoTech figures focus on the total number of voice messaging systems shipped, we expect unified messaging to account for a larger portion of our market share going forward, particularly as IP solutions continue to penetrate the market," added Foia. "With our Kinesis product, we are well-positioned to provide our customers with a flexible unified communications solution that integrates with IP technologies. Kinesis supports both traditional and IP telephone systems and hybrid IP/PBX environments, making for a smoother transition to IP telephony. Kinesis also offers clustering, which is ideal for supporting very large enterprises with thousands of employees. We anticipate that Kinesis will be one of our fastest growing product lines in both our reseller and strategic partner channels."
InfoTrack for Enterprise Communications is a quarterly subscription service available from InfoTech (www.pbimedia-infotech.com) and also includes coverage of the PBX, IP-PBX, KTS, and Call Center markets.
