NEC America Completes Acquisition of Active Voice, Inc.
Seattle, Washington, USA - November 8, 2001 – NEC America, Inc. has announced that as of October 22, 2001, it has completed its acquisition of the messaging products of Active Voice, Inc., a world leader in providing unified/or voice messaging and computer telephony software solutions. The acquisition supports NEC's vision to deliver next generation computer telephony integration (CTI) and unified communications solutions to enterprises worldwide.
Included in the acquisition are the assets of Active Voice, Inc. plus its voice and unified messaging solutions, intellectual property and business operations in the United States, the Netherlands and Australia. A new company, Active Voice LLC, has been organized and will be jointly owned by NEC America Inc. and NEC Infrontia Inc. It will operate as an independent subsidiary of NEC and continue to develop, maintain and sell Repartee®, PhoneSoft™, Replay®, Replay Plus®, Lingo® and Active Voice embedded solutions that are distributed globally by strategic partners. The company will be headquartered in Seattle, Washington.
